The Indian Air Force (IFC, Delhi International), through the Ministry of Defence, has issued a request for information for the procurement of four to six long-range business jets, each with a minimum capacity of 19 passengers, to replace four 2005-built Legacy 600s deployed as VIP aircraft. Responses were due by April 15.

The aircraft will be operated by the Air Headquarters Communication Squadron based at Delhi International and tasked with transporting senior government officials and the chiefs of the Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, and Indian Army. These aircraft are separate to those used by India's president, vice-president, and prime minister, who travel on three B737-700(BBJ)s and two VIP-configured, modified B777-300ERs.
