Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) will integrate its eleven A321-200NY(XLR)s into the fleet as standard-range A321-200NX aircraft, and will not even demark them as a specific type, chief commercial officer Ian Malin said during Routes World 2026. Confirming what CEO József Váradi previously told ch-aviation, Malin said the aircraft no longer fit into the low-cost carrier's business model following the closure of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. The group currently operates six XLRs, and will take the remaining five on order later this year. Plans to transfer the outstanding orders to another operator did not pan out, Malin confirmed.
