Saudia (SV, Jeddah International) took delivery of the first of its 15 firm-ordered A321-200NY(XLR) on May 24, 2026.
HZ-ASBA (msn 12779) was ferried directly from Toulouse Blagnac to Jeddah International. The aircraft is configured for up to 144 passengers, the airline said, including 24 business class suites and 120 economy class seats. It is also the first aircraft delivered to the airline with its new cabin product, dubbed "The New Saudia Experience".
"The delivery of the A321XLR reflects the momentum of Saudia's ongoing transformation. As we continue to grow our fleet, our focus is not only on adding capacity but on investing in aircraft, products, and capabilities that strengthen Saudia's competitiveness and support the Kingdom’s aviation ambitions," chief executive Ibrahim Al-Omar said.
The airline did not disclose when the aircraft would enter into revenue service, or what its first route will be.
Saudia expects to take all fifteen A321-200NY(XLR)s by the end of 2027.
ch-aviation data shows the airline's current narrowbody fleet comprises thirty-seven A320-200s, fifteen A321-200s, and twelve A321-200NX. Besides the XLRs, it has firm orders for twelve A320-200Ns and 101 A321-200NX. All A320-200Ns and thirty-nine A321-200NX are currently earmarked for its low-cost carrier subsidiary, flyadeal.
