Rex - Regional Express (ZL, Wagga Wagga) will withdraw from the Melbourne Airport-Devonport and King Island-Burnie routes from June 20, 2026, citing a "challenging operating environment" and soaring fuel prices. Both routes are currently served by other carriers. From the same date, Rex will consolidate Melbourne-Burnie to 18x weekly flights and Melbourne-King Island to 7x weekly. Melbourne-Mildura services will reduce from 24x to 19x weekly flights from June 22. Rex stated affected passengers "will be supported".
