Boeing (BOE, Washington National) expects China's commitment to acquire 200 aircraft to become firm orders later in 2026. Chief executive Kelly Ortberg described the deal as an initial tranche, with more orders expected later. Further commitments of 300 to 500 aircraft could follow, subject to continued supply of spare parts and components for Chinese operators. Aircraft are expected to be allocated by the Chinese government to local airlines before Boeing negotiates individual orders.
