EcoJet (8J, Cochabamba), authorised by the Bolivian government, has entered into a charter agreement with Brazil’s Total Linhas Aéreas (0T, Belo Horizonte Pampulha), sourcing an B737-400(SF) to transport food and goods across the South American country, which faced weeks of road blockades by anti-government protestors.
PS-TLG (msn 27674) was ferried to Santa Cruz Viru Viru from Manaus International on June 12. Since June 15, it has been flying across central Bolivia between Santa Cruz and Cochabamba, ADS-B data shows.
Approving the charter of the narrowbody freighter is a “measure that seeks to strengthen the supply chain, guarantee the timely supply of basic food items, and support producers, merchants, and consumers, especially at a time when land transport is facing difficulties,” said Bolivia’s Ministry of Public Works in a statement.
EcoJet operates a fleet of one ARJ100 and three ARJ85s, while Total operates a fleet of five B737-400(SF)s.
