Bamberg-based BHS Aviation Group has consolidated all operations under the German AOC of BHS Aviation, the company announced. The group's fixed-wing operations were previously conducted under the AOC of BHS Aviation (Switzerland).

“By consolidating under a German AOC, we're creating a clear regulatory and organisational foundation for the further development of our company,” said BHS Aviation Group CEO Maximilian Stoschek. The company said the restructuring allows it to consolidate regulatory responsibilities, harmonise internal processes, and effectively use existing expertise.

Despite the change, BHS Aviation will maintain a presence in Switzerland. “While Germany will focus on aircraft management and the strategic control of flight operations, the Zurich location will concentrate on air operations and charter services for private and business clients,” the statement continued.

The move follows the reregistration of BHS Aviation Group's sole fixed-wing aircraft, a Citation Latitude, previously reported exclusively by ch-aviation. The jet, now registered in Germany as D-CBHS (msn 680A-0326), was previously operated under the Swiss registration HB-VMS and the 'BHZ' code used by the Swiss division.

This aircraft resumed operations on June 8 with a flight between Zurich and Nuremberg without an operator callsign. BHS Aviation further operates a German-registered AW109, last active on May 18, flying under the 'BHZ' code.

Looking ahead, the group expects the restructuring to support further expansion. “This includes, in particular, the development of internal processes, the targeted acquisition of additional expertise, and the introduction and harmonisation of modern software and control systems.”

Germany-based BHS Aviation was founded in 2008 as BHS Helicopterservice and secured a German AOC in 2020.

The origins of BHS Aviation Switzerland date back to 1991, when the company operated as Heli-Link/Jet-Link. In 2013, DC Aviation (DCS, Stuttgart) acquired the business and rebranded it to DC Aviation Switzerland.

BHS Aviation then acquired DC Aviation's helicopter business in 2019, taking over DC Aviation Switzerland, rebranding the company to BHS Aviation Switzerland, and merging both entities under BHS Aviation Group later that year. Fixed-wing services were introduced under BHS Aviation Switzerland's AOC in January 2023.
