The civil aviation authority in Kyrgyzstan has grounded the entire fleet of TezJet (K9, Bishkek) for maintenance checks after an accident at Bishkek, where the landing gear of one of the carrier's MD-83s collapsed during takeoff.

EX-80003 (msn 53487) crashed to one side while departing the capital for Osh International on July 7, 2026. As the landing gear collapse reportedly occurred during the early stage of the takeoff, the aircraft did not veer off the runway, and there were no reported fatalities or serious injuries.

ch-aviation data shows the airline also operates two ARJ85s, one of which has been parked at Bishkek since July 3, the other last flew to Osh on July 7, and another MD-83, which flew from Delhi International to eastern Kyrgyzstan on July 7, was then ferried to Bishkek on July 8.

TezJet did not respond to ch-aviation's request for comment.
