Aircalin (SB, Nouméa La Tontouta) signed financing agreements for its first of two A350-900s on July 6, 2026, ahead of the aircraft's planned delivery in December 2026, the New Caledonian carrier said in a social media post.
The financing combines a bank loan, Aircalin's equity, and French state support through an overseas tax incentive scheme. The airline said the arrangement does not require funding from New Caledonia's public funds.
Groupe BPCE's Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking leads the banking pool, which also comprises BCI, Banque de Nouvelle Calédonie, BRED Banque Populaire, and CIC. Aircalin did not disclose the financing amount or the aircraft's acquisition structure.
"This transaction reflects the confidence our banking and institutional partners place in Aircalin's strategy and financial strength, paving the way for the modernisation of our long-haul fleet," the carrier said.
The second A350 is expected to be delivered by mid-2028.
Aircalin operates a fleet of four aircraft, comprising two A320-200Ns, and two A330-900Ns.
