Luxair (LG, Luxembourg) has converted two of its previous order options for B737-10s to firm orders and added two new options for the variant, Boeing announced.
The move means that once all firm orders for the B737-10 are delivered, Luxair will have a fleet of four aircraft of the variant. The B737-10s will come with 213 seats.
The Luxembourgish flag carrier also has eight B737-8s on order with the manufacturer, as well as two E195-E2s on order from Embraer. Luxair currently operates a fleet of 23 aircraft, comprising three B737-700s, two B737-8s, four B737-800s, ten DHC-8-Q400s and four E195-E2s.
Luxair CEO Gilles Feith said earlier this year that fleet updates have been a crucial part of the company’s strategy since 2020. He also noted that while the focus remains on the E2 and B737 MAX, the carrier may need a third type for medium-haul services at some point.
