Maldivian (Q2, Malé) has signed a letter of intent with De Havilland Aircraft of Canada for two DHC-6-300-Gs, the manufacturer announced at the Farnborough Airshow 2026. Neither delivery dates nor configuration were disclosed.
The aircraft would be the first DHC-6-300-Gs delivered to the Maldives, which De Havilland described as the world's largest operating market for the type.
"The Twin Otter has been an integral part of aviation in the Maldives for decades, and this newest generation aircraft will allow us to continue providing the dependable service our passengers expect while benefiting from the aircraft's latest technological and operational enhancements," Island Aviation Services managing director Ibrahim Iyas said.
Island Aviation Services, which trades under the Maldivian brand, operates eleven DHC-6-300s to connect Malé with resorts and remote islands across the Maldivian archipelago. It also flies one A320-200, one A330-200, three ATR42-600s, two ATR72-600s, one DHC-8-200, one DHC-8-Q200 and five DHC-8-Q300s.
