The next hearing in an alleged bribery case involving SriLankan Airlines (UL, Colombo International) and Airbus will take place on October 13, 2026. This comes as the Colombo Chief Magistrate postponed proceedings, ordering the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) to submit a progress report by this date. A warrant for the arrest of Priyanka Nayomali was also issued, the wife of former CEO Kapila Chandrasena who was arrested in connection with the case in March 2026, and later found dead in May. The case concerns a 2013 order for ten Airbus aircraft. The protracted affair has seen SriLankan sue Airbus, and more recently demand cash and aircraft from the OEM.
