Saudia Cargo has launched a new 5th freedom scheduled freighter service linking Saudi Arabia with Bangladesh and Germany.
In a statement, the airline said the 2x weekly service began on August 14, 2026, and is intended to strengthen air freight links between Bangladesh and Europe, offering dedicated capacity for exports including garments, textiles, perishables, pharmaceuticals, industrial equipment, and e-commerce shipments.
According to ADS-B data, the routing is Riyadh-Dhaka-Jeddah International-Frankfurt International-Riyadh or Jeddah, operated with three of parent Saudia's four B777-200Fs: HZ-AK71 (msn 60337), HZ-AK72 (msn 60338), and HZ-AK73 (msn 60339). Flights are operated by Saudia on behalf of Saudia Cargo.
"The new service is supported by ongoing investments to enhance operational capacity and modernise the dedicated cargo fleet, including the recent acquisition agreement for four Boeing 777-200 freighters to bolster Saudia Cargo's global presence," the company outlined.
As previously reported, Saudia recently signed a purchase-leaseback agreement with DAE Capital for four additional B777-200F freighters following the initial order announced in July 2026. Deliveries are scheduled between October 2026 and May 2027, with the aircraft to be operated under long-term leases.
Saudia Cargo supplements its existing B777-200F fleet with four freighters wet leased from Air Atlanta Europe and ASL Airlines Ireland, respectively.
