Stricken US lessor and investment firm 777 Partners has secured an order transferring an involuntary Chapter 7 liquidation procedure against it from Florida to Texas, where it is already pursuing a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, after a judge in Miami found that "Texas is the stronger administrative forum". While acknowledging that Miami was the company's historical base and retained strong legal ties, the court ruled that the ongoing wind down is being directed from Texas, making it the most efficient venue for the group's 23 affiliated bankruptcy cases. The judge also denied a creditors' request to halt the Texas proceedings. The Miami-based investment firm backed now-defunct Australian start-up Bonza and Canadian low-cost carrier Flair Airlines.
