Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) has entered into an agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) to acquire the assets of MHI Canada Aerospace (MHICA) located in Mississauga, Ontario. Expected to close later in 2026, the transaction will add 750 employees and bring component work for Bombardier's business jet programmes in-house.

MHICA supplies the main wings and centre fuselage structures for the Global 5500 and Global 6500, as well as the main wing for the Challenger 3500. MHICA operates a 270,000-square-foot (25,084-square-metre) manufacturing facility and a 70,000-square-foot (6,503-square-metre) logistics centre. MHI will remain committed to the commercial aerospace and defence sectors.
