Cape Air (9K, Hyannis) has ordered eight Cessna (single turboprop) Grand Caravan EX turboprops from Textron Aviation to support its regional passenger operations in Montana, with deliveries and fleet introduction planned from 2027, the parties announced in a joint statement.

"The communities we serve in Eastern Montana are unique, and we're proud to continue investing in air service that meets their needs," commented Cape Air president and CEO Mike Migliore. "The Grand Caravan is a proven, dependable aircraft that will provide additional flexibility for passengers travelling with baggage, sporting equipment, work gear, and other essential items. It is a great fit for our Montana operation and reinforces our long-term commitment to the communities we serve."

Cape Air said the aircraft will replace the airline's existing equipment on its Montana network, currently served with a fleet of thirty Tecnam P2012s. Its Montana route network includes Billings, Glasgow, MT, Glendive, Havre City County, Sidney, MT, and Wolf Point.

The rest of the fleet comprises sixty-eight Cessna (twin piston) 402C units and five Britten-Norman BN-2 Islanders, according to ADS-B data. The regional carrier operates more than 300 flights per day to 34 cities in the United States and Caribbean.
