B&H Airlines (Sarajevo) has been forced to at least temporarily suspend operations earlier this week due to a maintenance issue with its only remaining operational ATR 72-200 E7-AAE (c/n 465). According to Enver Bijedic, Bosnia-Herzegovina's transport and communications minister, the carrier also faces bankruptcy because of claims by Hypo Alpe Adria Bank which has frozen some of B&H's accounts as the carrier failed to repay loans amounting to approximately 3.5 million EUR on time. B&H is hopeful to be able to resolve the issues and to resume operations from Friday, March 8.
