The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) has added its first DHC-8-Q400 Multi-Role Emergency Response (MRE) airtanker, joining the agency’s air fleet based in La Ronge, it said in a statement.
This is the second De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Q400 aircraft the Canadian province has added, after it incorporated a DHC-8-Q400(AT), registration C-GOVQ (msn 4256), in June 2025.
The DHC-8-Q400(MRE) will undergo induction, training, and certification to prepare for service. With the arrival of the Q400MRE, one CV-580(AT) will be retired as part of a planned fleet transition, the agency said.
The registration and serial number of the new aircraft was not disclosed. ch-aviation has reached out to the SPSA for confirmation on this data.
