Fly Jamaica Airways (Kingston Norman Manley) has been given the go-ahead by the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) to begin operating Georgetown Cheddi Jagan - New York JFK and Toronto Pearson flights. Initial flight operations will use the airline's sole B757-200, though it is understood to now be looking for a second. The new airline commenced scheduled services on February 14, 2013 between Kingston Norman Manley and New York JFK and is a partnership between Guyanese-born chief executive officer, Captain Paul Ronald Reece, and Jamaican shareholders, including chief operating officer, Captain Lloyd Tai, and the manager of In-Flight Services, Christine Steele.
