Emirates (EK, Dubai International) has partnered with insurance firm Travel Guard, a subsidiary of Zurich Insurance Group, to offer an extensive, additionally paid travel insurance package in a bid to attract passengers newly concerned about flying through the Middle East. "Listening to customer feedback, we realised that travel demand remains strong but there was a gap in the market with regards to travel insurance cover," president Tim Clark said. The package includes benefits such as trip cancellation cover, compensation for baggage delay or loss, unlimited medical expenses, and emergency evacuation cover worldwide, and applies independently of government-issued travel advice.
