Haiti Aviation (Port au Prince) is a new Haitian-funded venture which launched operations from Port au Prince to Miami International using an MD-83 (N120MN, msn 53120) wet-leased from Falcon Air Express (Miami International). Speaking at the inaugural flight's departure on Friday, July 19, airline officials said they planned to use the airline to help lure back tourists to the Caribbean island. Echoing those words, Haitian Minister of Tourism, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, said talks were already underway with various tour operators to help organize various packages. Other flights offered are Cap Haitien to Miami with Panamá City Tocumen International flights also due in the near future.
