Iraqi Airways (IA, Baghdad) has taken delivery of YI-ASE (msn 40104); its first of thirty B737-800s ordered in 2008. Iraqi’s Minister of Transportation Hadi Al Ameri said the 737-800 will play a key role in helping his country modernize the airline's fleet and integrate into the regional and international commercial aviation system. With this delivery, the Iraqi national carrier still has 39 Boeing aircraft on order including 29 B737-800s and ten B787-8s.
