California Pacific Airlines (San Diego McClellan Palomar) has once more had its application for a scheduled passenger services license rejected by the Federal Aviation Administration. FAA Spokesman Ian Gregor said CP Air's formal application for certification was rejected "due to a number of deficiencies relating to safety, maintenance and inspections". Cal Pacific in its application is also alleged "to have failed to answer some questions posed by regulators", and "left out at least one required section". The start-up has until September 13 to resubmit its application and is its latest setback having been in the works since April 2010. Nonagenarian owner Ted Vallas envisions an airline that would offer nonstop service to Sacramento International, San José, US, Oakland International, Phoenix Sky Harbor, Las Vegas Harry Reid and eventually San José Cabo. CP Air remains confident it can correct the errors in its resubmission.
