Air Europa (UX, Palma de Mallorca) could go public following a recent successful restructuring programme carried out by parent, Globalia. In an interview with Spain's Onda Cero, Globalia president, Juan José Hildalgo, said that any potential IPO would depend on market conditions and highlighted that Air Europa was now ripe for an offering given that the airline had now experienced its best year ever thanks largely to the dynamism of its growth and its young fleet. The CEO boasted that for each flight Iberia (IB, Madrid Barajas) operated, Air Europa matched its performance and even saw savings of 20%. Air Europa also plans to take on Iberia in the lucrative South American market using its future fleet of eight B787-8s and eight B787-9s.
