El Al Israel Airlines (LY, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion) and Boeing (BOE, Washington National) have finalized an order for two additional B737-900(ER)s. The order comes just two weeks after the Israeli flag-carrier took delivery of its first 737-900(ER), 4X-EHA (msn 41552). This order brings the total number of 737-900(ER)s ordered by EL AL to eight. The type is used on flights from Tel Aviv Ben Gurion to Continental Europe, Russia and the Mediterranean.
