Senegal Airlines (Dakar Yoff-Léopold Sédar Senghor International) will receive substantial financial assistance from the Senegalese state, which among other objectives, will also help locate a suitable technical partner for the struggling airline. Speaking to the Agence de Presse Sénégalaise in Ziguinchor, Minister of Tourism and Air Transport, Oumar Gueye, said: "Senegal Airlines is a company that is in a lot of difficulties. If the state does not take responsibility to save this company, it will disappear." The minister added that the airline's fleet of three A320-200s and a wet-leased CRJ100 would also be reviewed in order to better cater to domestic and regional traffic. Negotiations with various undisclosed manufacturers are already at an advanced stage.
