Air Cairo (SM, Cairo International) is planning to lease four more A320-200s to its fleet by June 2014. The move is part of the airline's plan to shift from being an exclusive charter carrier to a more hybrid model which also offers low cost flights. In an interview with ArabianAerospace, airline chairman and CEO Yasser El Ramly said the new aircraft would be used to strengthen scheduled services from airports such as Alexandria Borg el Arab and Asyut to Tripoli International, Amman Queen Alia and Jeddah International. In the long run, Mr Ramly sees his airline operating twenty aircraft though this is dependent on the socio-political situation in Egypt stabilizing.
