InselAir Aruba (Aruba) is set to officially launch in December using a single MD-82 with a second to scheduled to arrive in March 2014. In its report, FlightGlobal quotes InselAir (Curaçao) president and chief executive Albert Kluyver as saying Aruba will also see two of four ex-KLM Cityhopper (WA, Amsterdam Schiphol) Fokker 70s based there, the first of which is due in April for certification purposes while the second is due in June with the last two due in August. Regulatory procedures complete, the type is due to in service in June. KLM has told ch-aviation that no deal has been reached with Insel Air on the aircraft transaction though. According to Mr Kluyver, Insel Air intends to use the added capacity to increase its footprint to include Cali, Manaus International, San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin, Havana International, Punta Cana and San José Cabo.
