Air Canada (AC, Montréal Trudeau) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Air Georgian (Toronto Pearson) expanding their relationship and amending their capacity purchase agreement (CPA). "We are excited with this opportunity to expand Air Georgian's presence as an Air Canada Express regional operator beginning in 2014," said Eric Edmondson, President of Air Georgian. Under the terms of the MoU, Air Georgian has been selected to operate a number of additional regional routes including transborder routes in mid-2014 using a fleet of Canadair Regional Jets. Several of the routes, the transborder ones in particular, were previously the domain of Chorus Aviation subsidiary Jazz Air (QK, Halifax). Chorus recently won a court case against Air Canada over the rate it was paid over and above its controllable costs which Air Canada had publicly stated "were too high."
