Hainan Airlines (HU, Haikou) will acquire a 52.9% stake in Lucky Air (China) (8L, Dali) from parent, Grand China Air (CN, Haikou), for CNY1.702billion (USD0.28billion). The sale will bring Hainan's total shareholding in the Chinese domestic carrier to 86.68% while the remaining 13.32% will be held by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Yunnan Provincial People's Government. WCARN says Hainan intends to enhance the airline's competitiveness in the south of China.
