Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) is considering ordering up to forty B777Xs from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) as part of its fleet renewal and expansion programme. Reuters says the deal, which is potentially valued at USD40billion, has not yet been settled with no announcement expected at the ongoing Singapore Airshow. The Singaporean carrier is also studying the Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) A350, of which it has already committed to seventy A350-900s with twenty options. The core of the airline's long haul fleet, thirty B777-200s and twenty eight B777-300s average 9.3 years of age the ch-aviation aircraft database shows.
