Northwest Sky Ferry (Bellingham) has been given the go-ahead by the US Department of Transportation to use the San Juan Airlines (SJN, Anacortes) trade name. Also known as Rugby Aviation, Northwest Sky Ferry stated in its request for trade name registration that it had bought, among other assets, the trade name “San Juan Airlines” from West Isle Air, Inc. (trading as San Juan Airlines) on February 19.

"In its request, Rugby submitted a bill of sale indicating that it had purchased the name, phone number, and website of San Juan Airlines," the DoT said in a statement. "Since Rugby has complied with the requirements of Part 215, we acknowledge the registration of the trade name 'San Juan Airlines' for immediate use in its operations."

San Juan Airlines offers scheduled, charter, and scenic flights from Anacortes, Bellingham, and Seattle Tacoma International to the San Juan Islands and British Columbia.
