Cubana (CU, Havana International) has expressed an interest in acquiring An-148-100s from Russia's Voronezh Aircraft Plant (VASO) following bilateral talks between a Cuban ambassadorial committee and the Russian foreign ministry last week.

Russian Aviation News says the governor of the Voronezh Region, Alexey Gordeev, did not specify how many aircraft the Cubans would acquire, noting only that negotiations were still ongoing.

The Cuban national carrier currently operates a fleet of three An-158s on flights from Havana International to Guantánamo, Holguin and Santiago de Cuba domestically as well as Caracas Simón Bolivar, Fort de France, Porlamar and Santo Domingo Las Américas regionally.
