Mauritania Airlines International (Nouakchott) will take delivery of its first E145LR next month as it moves to increase domestic connectivity in the West African state. At present, the Mauritanian flag carrier serves only two cities domestically - Nouadhibou and Zouerate.

Airline sources who spoke to Radio Mauritania state that a first B737-800 is also expected to arrive at some point in the near future. Together with its two B737-500s and a B737-700, Mauritania Airlines International also operates extensive regional flights throughout West and Central Africa as well as flights to Paris CDG and Gran Canaria in Europe.
