Force Aérienne du Djibouti (Djibouti) took delivery of its first MA-60 from Xian Aircraft Company (Xi'an Yanliang) at a commissioning ceremony held at Djibouti Ambouli International Airport on June 18. Attending the occasion was President Ismail Omar Guelleh, members of government and the Djibouti Armed Forces (DAF), Chinese embassy staff and representatives from CATIC (China National Aero-Technology Import and Export Corporation).

The turboprop, the first of its kind in the Horn of African nation, will be used for cargo and VIP flights.

Djibouti joins a growing number of African operators that have embraced the aircraft among them - Air Zimbabwe (UM, Harare International), SN Air Congo (Brazzaville), Air Burundi (Bujumbura), Eritrea's Massawa Airways (Massawa), Section Liaison Air Yaoundé (Yaoundé Nsimalen), and the Zambian Air Force (Lusaka).
