Loong Air (GJ, Hangzhou) signed a Letter of Intent with Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) at the ongoing Farnborough International Airshow 2014 to acquire twenty A220-100s valued at approximately USD1.28billion at list prices.

“The CSeries airliner is the right size aircraft to allow for profitable growth as Loong Air seeks to expand its network and provide improved connectivity and frequencies to an increasing number of domestic travelers,” said Liu Qihong, Chairman, Loong Air.

Founded in 2013, the Chinese carrier operates a fleet of seven A320-200s and three B737-300(F)s on scheduled flights throughout China. The carrier last year signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for eleven A320ceo and nine A320neo aircraft.
