Alitalia (AZA, Rome Fiumicino) has outlined the Air One (Rome Fiumicino) routes it will assume with effect from October. As previously reported, Air One is to be phased out as part of the Italian carrier's EUR1.758billion (USD2.357billion) investment deal with Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi International) signed last month.
Effective October 1, Alitalia will take over the following Air One routes: Routed from Catania - Milan Malpensa, London Gatwick, Pisa, and Verona; Routed from Tirana - Venice Marco Polo, Bologna, Pisa, Verona, Genoa; Routed from Pisa - Prague Václav Havel.
Thereafter, effective October 26, flights from Catania to Milan Malpensa and London Gatwick will be terminated.
As it stands, until October 26 Air One will operate for and on behalf of Alitalia, following which all flights be operated by the mainline.
