Garuda Indonesia (GA, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) will operate its last scheduled B747-400 flight on January 14, 2015. World Airline News reports the Indonesian national carrier has restricted use of its last four B747s to Hajj flights between Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta, Makassar, and Medan Kuala Namu, and Jeddah International in Saudi Arabia.
Garuda is replacing its B747s with more modern and fuel efficient B777-300ERs of which it currently has seven.
