Loganair (LM, Glasgow International) has been awarded a Scottish government Public Services Obligation (PSO) contract to operate flights from Glasgow International to Campbeltown, Tiree and Barra.

Scottish Minister for Transport and Islands, Derek Mackay, said in a statement that the new contract, which will feature significantly enhanced service on all three routes, will commence in October and run for the next four years.

“The routes will also be served by our new DHC-6-400 aircraft, which entered service last month. I had the pleasure of landing on the beach runway at Barra in one of the new planes last month, and have no doubt they will prove popular with all who travel in them," he said.

The two DHC-6-400s in question - G-HIAL (cn 917) and G-SGTS (cn 918) - are leased from Highlands & Islands Airports Ltd.
