GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (G3, São Paulo Congonhas) Chief Executive Paulo Kakinoff has told journalists last week that the carrier was currently considering adding B737-900s to its fleet and was already in advanced talks with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) regarding this option.

Without giving more details, Kakinoff said extensive studies would have already been done and conversations had with Boeing both regarding the -900 series in general, but also regarding the MAX 9.

Gol currently operates a fleet of 36 B737-700s and 99 B737-800s with approximately 94% of its capacity deployed on its Brazilian domestic network.
