Colorful Guizhou Airlines (GY, Guiyang) CEO Zhai Yan says the start-up has scheduled a launch date of December 28. Initial flights will focus on domestic Guizhou operations before expanding out into China, he said.
Operations will likely be on-board the airline's first of seven E190s on order from Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos U.E. Stumpf International). Colorful Guizhou has also entered into talks with Chinese lessor Avic Leasing concerning CRJ900s though their status is currently unknown.
Colourful Guizhou (also know as Duocai Guizhou Airlines) is a joint-venture between Guizhou Industrial Investment Group (95%) and Weining County Construction Investment Group (5%).
