Sterna Linhas Aéreas (STR, Brasília Juscelino Kubitschek International) has been forced to temporarily suspend its operations after its only aircraft suffered a nose-gear-collapse on touchdown at Recife, Brazil on Friday, October 21.
Quoting local media, the Aviation Herald reports indicate A300B4(F) PR-STN (cn 236) had just arrived from São Paulo Guarulhos with a shipment of mail when its nosegear collapsed resulting in the freighter veering off runway 18.
Although it came to a halt on soft ground, the aircraft's superstructure incurred significant damage.
Sterna specializes in domestic Brazilian cargo operations connecting the country's main hubs of Brasília Juscelino Kubitschek International, São Paulo Guarulhos, Curitiba International, Recife, and Manaus International.
