Air Arabia (G9, Sharjah) has announced it has firmed up options with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for five A320-200s.

The aircraft are part of an existing order the UAE-based LCC placed with the Europeans in 2007 (thirty-four) and 2008 (ten). As such, the five new A320s will be put into service starting in the second quarter of 2017.

Air Arabia currently operates thirty-eight A320s at its mainline Sharjah-based carrier, along with one at Air Arabia Egypt (E5, Alexandria International), two at Air Arabia Jordan (Amman Queen Alia), and five at Air Arabia Maroc (3O, Casablanca Mohammed V).
