LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) has announced it will be expanding its Kiev, Ukraine operations with effect from February of next year.

In a statement, the Polish carrier said 6x weekly flights from Warsaw Chopin to Kyiv Igor Sikorsky would commence from February 26, 2017, using E195 aircraft. The service complements the carrier's existing service to Kyiv Boryspil which it serves twice daily from Warsaw.

LOT says the new route will allow it to consolidate its service to Ukraine which, in turn, is part of a greater strategy to enhance Warsaw's role as Central and Eastern Europe's preferred primary hub.
