Air France (AF, Paris CDG) is planning to slash up to 1500 jobs as a result of capacity cuts of 5% for passenger and 15% for cargo services. It has given up its routes from London City to Nice and Paris CDG already and will terminate its London City-Strasbourg and Paris CDG-Shannon routes on October 24. It has launched a codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways (PG/Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) offering its passengers domestic connections within Thailand and to Cambodia and Laos in July. As of September it now also has a bilateral codeshare agreement with Armavia (U8/Yerevan) on the Paris CDG-Yerevan route. Air France-KLM is reportedly interested in taking a minority stake in JAL – Japan Airlines (JL/Tokyo Haneda) together with its alliance partner Delta Air Lines (DL/Atlanta) while the current JAL partner in the United States, American Airlines (AA/Dallas/Fort Worth) has also declared its interest in a similar minority stake.
