Montenegro Airlines (Podgorica) has added a third EMB-195 and has launched new routes from its Podgorica base: Podgorica-Copenhagen Kastrup: 3x weekly Fokker 100 service has started on May 1 (replacing route from Tivat operated last summer) Podgorica-Nis: daily Fokker 100 service (already launched in February) It is no longer operating seasonal services from Tivat to Dusseldorf Intl, London Gatwick, Skopje and Zurich this summer season. The only remaining routes from Tivat are Belgrade, Moscow Domodedovo and Paris CDG. Montenegro Airlines has also given up plans for a new Serbian subsidiary that was to be based in Nis. The government of Montenegro is now planning to sell 30% in the carrier to a private investor along with the option to increase that 30% stake to 51% after two years based on certain conditions. It will give up its Podgorica-Belgrade and Tivat-Belgrade routes by the end of October in favour of a cooperation agreement with Jat Airways (JU/Belgrade). The two carriers are also exploring cooperation on other routes.
