Eilat J. Hozman Airport has closed to all traffic as of Monday, March 18, after Eilat Ramon Airport, located 19 kilometres away, became fully operational. Located in downtown Eilat, along Israel's Red Sea coastline, J. Hozman Airport saw predominantly domestic Israeli services given its confined runway length - 1,900 metres.
For its part, Ramon sees only domestic services - to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion and Tel Aviv Sde Dov - via Israir and Arkia Israeli Airlines. International flights are expected to begin once civilian operations at Eilat's other airfield, Eilat Ovda International, end on March 31.
