United Continental Holdings has announced it has changed its legal name from United Continental Holdings, Inc. to United Airlines Holdings, Inc.

In an SEC filing, the parent firm of United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) said it had amended its Certificate of Incorporation to reflect the change which took effect on June 27, 2019.

United Airlines Holdings’ common stock will continue to trade on The Nasdaq Stock Market LLC under the symbol “UAL” and its CUSIP number will not change.

United Continental Holdings was founded on October 1, 2010, when UAL Corporation agreed to absorb Continental Airlines, Inc. t/a Continental Airlines (Houston Intercontinental) as part of a USD3.2 billion dollar acquisition.
