Iberia Express (I2, Madrid Barajas) will start operations on March 25 with four ex-Iberia (IB, Madrid Barajas) and ex-Vueling Airlines (VY, Barcelona El Prat) A320-200s operating several routes on behalf of parent Iberia. It will first mainly take over some domestic services from Madrid Barajas to Alicante Elche Miguel Hernández, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca and Sevilla with Amsterdam Schiphol, Dublin International, Fuerteventura, Granada, Ibiza, Mykonos, Lanzarote, Menorca Mahón, Naples Capodichino, Riga, Santiago de Compostela, Santa Cruz de La Palma and Vigo being added later this year. Iberia Express is expected to operate 14 aircraft on behalf of Iberia by the end of 2012.
