AeroSur (Santa Cruz Viru Viru) is still struggling to keep its operations up and running and has now delayed the resumption of its Santa Cruz Viru Viru-Madrid Barajas route to "May" as its new ex-Aerolíneas Argentinas (AR, Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery) B747-400 has still not been added to its air operator certificate. Meanwhile reports about extensive flight delays of up to several days and flight cancellations are starting to become more frequent and the airline's single B767-200ER CP-2659 (MSN 24742) has been returned to the lessor. It is currently discussing a rescue plan with the Bolivian government that reportedly includes a cooperation agreement with state owned competitor BoA - Boliviana de Aviación (OB, La Paz El Alto).
